Zapata is 32 years old and his contract with the Rossoneri will expire on June 30, with no new deal on the table.
He made 20 competitive appearances for Milan this season, scoring one Europa League goal.
“I cannot lie, we are in discussions for Jemerson and Zapata, so will sign one or the other,” Flamengo Vice-President Marcos Braz told Globoesporte.
