Bryan Cristante has proven himself a quietly important cog in Jose Mourinho’s Roma set up and he’s ready to sign a new long-term contract with the club.

The 28-year-old Italian midfielder has started all but one of the Giallorossi’s Serie A outings this season, seeing 2086 minutes of action across his 25 league appearances.

Cristante was unavailable for Roma’s defeat to Sassuolo through suspension and his absence was painfully felt, a sign of his understated importance to the Giallorossi.

As detailed by Calciomercato.com, Roma have prepared a new contract for Cristante, keen to lock him down amidst interest from Juventus and Milan.

The 28-year-old, whose current deal expires in June 2024, will extend his stay in the Italian capital to 2027, earning around €3m net per season plus add-ons.

Cristante has already made 211 appearances across all competitions for Roma since his initial arrival in July 2018 and could become one of the players with the most appearances for the club should he see out his new contract, which could be made official during the upcoming international break.
