Roma goalscorer Bryan Cristante believes that coach Daniele De Rossi is ‘getting the best’ out of his players, but insists that Roma have not yet qualified for the Europa League quarter-finals, despite recording a 4-0 victory over Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton in the round of 16 first leg.

Roma will now take a four-goal advantage into their away leg at the Amex Stadium in Falmer next Thursday, thanks to strikes from Paulo Dybala, Romelu Lukaku, Gianluca Mancini and the aforementioned Cristante.

The Italy international told Sky Sport Italia after full-time that the Giallorossi went about their business in the right manner.

“We were good, we interpreted the game well, we went about it with the right mindset.

“We prepared really well and we were even better at putting everything we worked on during the week into practice. Qualification (for the next round) is not settled yet, but it is a big victory that will help us a lot in the return leg.

“There is always room for improvement. But, on evening’s like tonight the good things stand out even more. The coach is getting the best out of us.”

Cristante went on to explain that the Roma squad can begin to feel pleased when they satisfy the supporters with their performances.

“Playing here at the always sold-out Stadio Olimpico is such a spectacle. We are happy when we manage to make the fans happy. That’s when we start to have fun.”

Roma will be in Serie A action against Fiorentina on Sunday evening, before travelling to the English South Coast to face Brighton in the Europa League round of 16 second leg next Thursday, kicking off at 20.00 GMT.
