Roma midfielder Bryan Cristante expects a ‘difficult’ game against Atalanta on Saturday, felt the Giallorossi had the ‘right approach’ against Spezia and aims for a top-four finish in Serie A.

Jose Mourinho’s men took an early lead against Spezia through Chris Smalling, before Roger Ibanez doubled the lead after 56 minutes.

Cristante, the captain on the night, was happy with the 2-0 win and wanted to look at the good aspects of the performance against Thiago Motta’s men.

“We must also look at the positive things, we entered with the right approach,” Cristante told Sky Sport Italia after the match. “We dominated more or less the whole game.

“We could have scored more goals, we had a good much.”

Next up is against Atalanta and Cristante admitted he expects a tough game against Gian Piero Gasperini’s men.

“You can always do better. Saturday will be very difficult,” Cristante added. “They are a great team and we must give 100 per cent to bring home the points.”

Roma are sixth in Serie A with 28 points from 17 games and Cristante eyes a top-four finish this term.

“There’s a possibility, we are seven or eight teams who are fighting for it,” he said. “It’s difficult. We have two targets: the Conference League and fourth place. We must try to reach them.”
