Il Messaggero reports Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri asked the players if they wanted to get him sacked after the 3-0 defeat to Bologna and the crisis continued against Hellas Verona on Sunday.

Giovanni Simeone scored four times to give the Gialloblu a 4-1 win over Sarri’s men, who arrived after a 3-1 win over reigning champions Inter last time.

Serie A | Verona 4-1 Lazio: Simeone thumps four past Sarri

The Biancocelesti drew with Olympique Marseille at the Olimpico on Thursday last week but have struggled away from home this term.

Since beating Sarri’s former club Empoli in the first round of fixtures, Lazio have lost to Milan, Galatasaray, Bologna and Verona away, and have only picked up one point in the last four away games in Serie A.

The newspaper claims Sarri asked his player if they wanted his head after the 3-0 defeat to Bologna and history repeated itself in Verona.

Sarri admitted Lazio ‘melted like snow in the sun’ and Claudio Lotito has ordered the players into a retreat, as the Aquile sit eighth in the table with 14 points after nine games.

  1. Look at us, we have a president who doesn’t spend much and ds Tare who is useless and brought us Muriqi! We have Reina in goal at 39! It’s not Sarri it’s the players for sure! Weak mentally despite the good years under Inzaghi. Always tired out! We were second before the pandemic, after we came back from that we were so unfit I honestly wondered if we trained

  2. I only watched the highlights but it seemed like Reina should have saved at least a couple of those goals. Not sure he’s good enough anymore as a first choice keeper, especially at his age.
