Zenit defender Domenico Criscito reveals he was ‘very close to Inter last summer’ and says ‘the door is always open.’
The Italy international has in Russia since 2011 but has been linked with a return to his native country to join the Nerazzurri.
“For the moment there hasn’t been any contact looking to next season,” Criscito told FCInterNews.
“I was definitely very close to the Nerazzurri last summer.

“Reaching an agreement with the club would’ve been the next step, but the lack of an agreement between the clubs blocked the negotiations from proceeding.
“Now I’m focused on the Champions League and on the season with Zenit, but the door to Inter is always open.”
