Genoa

After Lorenzo Insigne from Napoli, Toronto FC are also reportedly close to agreeing a transfer for Genoa captain Domenico Criscito.

Insigne has already signed the contract with the MLS club, which will be valid from July 1, the day after his current deal with Napoli expires.

The Italy international may well be followed to Major League Soccer by Criscito.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the defender is on the verge of agreeing a deal with Toronto FC that will also be from July 1.

His current contract with Genoa is due to expire in June 2023, but the 35-year-old could be released early for a minimal fee.

The negotiations will progress after the January transfer window has shut and they are believed to be close to a three-year contract agreement.

It would not be the first experience abroad for Criscito, who spent seven years in Russia with FC Zenit from 2011 to 2018.

Criscito has made 16 appearances for Genoa this season between Serie A and the Coppa Italia, scoring six goals.

  1. Kinda old news. I wrote about it when Insigne signed. It was never going to be Belotti. Always Criscito.
