Veteran Parma striker Hernan Crespo has confirmed that this will be his last campaign in Serie A.

“This is the season of my goodbye,” noted the 36-year-old. “In June I’ll quit playing football at the highest level.

“I will almost certainly be leaving Italy, but until then I will continue to work hard because I like doing that.”

Although the former Argentina international has chosen to start a new playing adventure elsewhere, he still hasn’t decided where he will continue his career.

“I won’t rule out Dubai, Qatar or America,” he continued. “I’ll certainly chose something that will be interesting for me, that will make me feel happy.

“I want to end my playing days in a tranquil environment before returning to Italy.

“A director role with Parma once I retire? That’s an option.”

The former River Plate youngster moved to Italy in 1996 when Parma netted his signature. He subsequently spent spells at Lazio, Inter, Chelsea, Milan and Genoa.

He returned to the Stadio Tardini in January 2010.
