Cremonese team bus left unusable after a scooter chain was thrown at the window

Cremonese were forced to make amendments to their travel arrangements after their team bus was hit by a scooter chain on their way to play Sampdoria on Saturday afternoon.

The coach window was struck by the projectile roughly one kilometre away from the Stadio Luigi Ferraris as La Cremo made their way over to the ground from the team hotel.

The incident caused substantial damage to the Cremonese team bus, smashing a large portion of the full-length window, although double glazing prevented the glass from shattering inside the vehicle.

The extent of the damage rendered the bus unsafe and unusable, forcing Cremonese to arrange a replacement mode of transport for their journey home at the very last minute.

On the pitch, Cremonese recorded only their second league win of the season thanks to a dramatic 95th minute winner from Leonardo Sernicola to take the tie to 3-2 in favour of the away side.

As a result, Cremonese have lifted themselves off the bottom spot of the Serie A table, leapfrogging fellow relegation candidates Sampdoria in the process.
