Cremonese wore a very unusual jersey for today’s Serie A match against Monza, with no sponsors, club logo or even the names of the players.

It is a special edition shirt marking the 120th anniversary of the club’s foundation by harking back to their very first kit.

This is white with lilac trim on the collar and sleeves, and while the numbers are printed in black on the back, that is practically all.

It seems so strange seeing shirts without any sponsors or more importantly the names of the players printed across the shoulders.

Even the Cremonese logo is left out, while you need to look very closely to see the Acerbis kit motto.

There was just one nod to the present, as rather than have everyone wear their shirts from 1 to 11, the players did maintain their season-long individual numbers.
