COVID-19: Under 150 in ICU

There were 24 deaths related to COVID-19 in Italy over the last 24 hours and 224 new positive cases, but there are now under 150 in intensive care.

The pandemic continues to ease all over the country, although Lombardy remains the statistical outlier responsible for half all deaths and cases.

As per the latest figures released by the Italian Government, there were 24 deaths related to coronavirus since yesterday, with 13 of those in Lombardy.

There were another 224 new positive cases out of 40,545 swabs, so an average of just 0.55 per cent.

There were another 224 new positive cases out of 40,545 swabs, so an average of just 0.55 per cent.

Of the 224 new cases, 128 of those were in the Lombardy region.

The death toll since the crisis began on February 20 now stands at 34,634, with 16,570 of those in Lombardy.

The overall numbers continue to fall, as there are now 148 patients in intensive care, with another four released.

There are 2,314 in hospital (-160) and 18,510 self-isolating at home with minor symptoms (-76).

Other than Lombardy (128), Piedmont (26) and Emilia-Romagna (23), all the other regions in Italy have eight or under new positive cases.
