There were another 30 coronavirus deaths in Italy on Wednesday, with 11 regions reporting no new fatalities.

Although the daily figures for deaths and positive tests have risen slightly, less than half of new cases in the last 24 hours emanated from the epicentre of Lombardy (46.3 percent).

Veneto, Marche, Campania, Sicily, Abruzzo, Trentino Alto-Adige, Sardinia, Valle d’Aosta, Calabria, Molise and Basilicata were the regions to report no new losses of life as a result of COVID-19.

Veneto, Marche, Campania, Sicily, Abruzzo, Trentino Alto-Adige, Sardinia, Valle d’Aosta, Calabria, Molise and Basilicata were the regions to report no new losses of life as a result of COVID-19.

Puglia, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Calabria, Molise, Basilicata and the province of Trento have no fresh cases of the virus, with the latter revising down its total death toll by 61.

As of Wednesday, there have been 239,410 positive tests of COVID-19 (+190), with 18,655 of them currently active (-918).

A total of 186,111 people have recovered (+1,526) and 34,644 have died.

Out of the 18,655 active cases, 16,938 are in self-isolation (-667), 1,610 are in hospital with symptoms (-243) and 107 are in intensive care (-8).

There have now been 5,107,093 tests, an increase of 53,266 since yesterday.
