There were another 92 coronavirus deaths in Italy on Monday, but none were reported in Lombardy 24 hours ago.

Only 300 new infections were counted today – the lowest such figure since February 29.

Lombardy has posted 34 more fatalities, but it did not release a daily death toll on Sunday.

Now it has been confirmed that the region had none to report, although that does not take any unofficial cases into consideration.

Nevertheless, it is a welcome development, given Lombardy has been the hotbed of the pandemic on the peninsula.

As of Monday, there have been 230,158 positive tests of COVID-19 (+300), with 55,300 of them currently active (-1,294).

A total of 141,981 people have recovered (+1,502) and 32,877 have died.

Out of the 55,300 active cases, 46,574 are in self-isolation (-854), 8,185 are in hospital with symptoms (-428) and 541 are in intensive care (-12).

There have now been 3,482,253 tests, an increase of 35,241 since yesterday.
