His agent is quoted as saying the 26-year-old wants to move to Real Madrid, with new Blues boss Sarri set to hold face-to-face talks with the shot-stopper.
Sarri has already admitted he would not stand in Courtois’ way if he wants to leave, adding he only wants players with ‘high levels of motivation.’
And in the event that Courtois does depart, Gazzetta dello Sport believes Sarri’s prime target could be Milan’s Reina.
The duo had an excellent rapport while working together at Napoli, before they both left San Paolo at the end of last season.
Spaniard Reina has stated he is ‘happy’ at his new club in recent weeks, but the Italian daily does not believe this will deter Sarri from making an offer.
Reina, who played for Chelsea’s Premier League rivals Liverpool between 2005 and 2013, is not guaranteed first-team football at San Siro, with Gigio Donnarumma expected to start the new season as first choice.
As such, it is thought Milan could be tempted to do business for a fee between €6m and €8m if Sarri makes his interest official.
