According to multiple reports in Italy, Alessandro Costacurta’s mother, Margherita Beccegato, died in a car accident today.
Margherita Beccegato, 87, crashed into a gate at Premezzo in the province of Varese.
According to multiple reports, including La Gazzetta dello Sport and Calciomercato.com, the women may have suffered a stroke before losing control of the vehicle.
The accident happened at 9.30 am local time and the women died instantly and there was nothing Police and ambulances could do when they arrived at the scene.

Costacurta, 55, is one of Italy’s best-ever defenders, having played 59 games with the Azzurri at a senior level.
He was part of the team that lost the 1994 World Cup Final against Brazil.
The former defender is also one of Milan‘s legends. He won seven Serie A titles and five Champions Leagues during his playing career.
He retired from football in 2007 after having played 663 of his 694 career games with Milan.
He is currently working as a pundit for Sky Sport Italia.
