Alessandro Costacurta hopes Nicolò Zaniolo will shine at Atalanta this season and become a key player for Italy: ‘We must dream.’
Zaniolo has joined Atalanta from Galatasaray this summer and Azzurri legend Costacurta hopes that the ex-Roma and Aston Villa winger will impress at the Gewiss Stadium this term.
“I support Zaniolo because he is an Italian guy who has returned home and because we need a talent who can lead the national team,” Costacurta told Tuttosport.
“We can’t finish the Euros as we did this year. We must dream, like in Wembley with Mancini. Zaniolo is an intriguing pick for Gasperini. If he’s able to revamp Zaniolo’s career as he did with Scamacca, he will deserve the Coach of the Century award.”
