Massimiliano Allegri raged at TV pundits last week, but both Beppe Bergomi and Alessandro Costacurta hit back at the Bianconeri boss: ‘He was the one talking rubbish,’ said the ex-Milan defender.

The Old Lady’s tactician was irritated after Juventus‘ 1-1 draw against Nantes last week, saying that it is not true that he wants to win all games 1-0. “This is rubbish,” he said.

Serie A legends Costacurta and Bergomi, now pundits for Sky Sport Italia, have replied to the Italian tactician.

“I don’t like Juventus’ style and it’s the coach’s fault even if I understand that a player must deal with the situation he finds himself in,” said Costacurta.

“So, I don’t like the way, but I think they have a great coach, aside from what he said the other night. We didn’t say anything, but he was the one talking rubbish. We showed the figures and I think there is a certain way to answer people.

“I repeat, if someone was talking rubbish, it’s him. I am sorry, but I didn’t like it and Allegri must learn how to deal with certain situations.”

His colleague Bergomi, a former Inter defender, shares the same view.

“I understand that there is unbalance between the coach and pundits, but education and respect must prevail when you are there. He was asked a normal question, with no insults. He was wrong because he didn’t have respect for a person who does a different job but with his same passion.”

Juventus have been decked 15 points for the current Serie A campaign and are currently 12 points below a Champions League placement. On Thursday, they visit Nantes in the second leg of the Europa League play-offs, while on Tuesday, February 28, they will host Torino at the Allianz Stadium in the derby della Mole.

Allegri signed a four-year deal with Juventus in 2021, so his contract at Juventus expires in June 2025.
