While the former Bayern Munich man was injured, Coach Tite confirmed that he wouldn’t have called him anyway due to the incident with Di Francesco.

“I spoke face-to-face with the Coach,” Douglas Costa explained from the Brazil camp.

“He told me what he thought, I respect him a lot and I apologised. It was a bad incident, it wasn’t like me and it was something that had never happened before in my career.

“Now I just want to put it behind me and keep working.”
