Palermo boss Serse Cosmi is drawing inspiration from the performance Bari gave against Milan last weekend before his side plays the League leaders on Saturday.

Bottom club Bari surprised everyone by coming away from San Siro with a point following a hard-fought 1-1 draw.

Palermo have lost their last five games in a row and need to stop the rot if they are to qualify for next year's Europa League.

"We must face Milan with the same spirit with which Bari went on the pitch last Sunday, at San Siro, getting a draw in the end," Cosmi said.

"If we had won the last games I would have thought about trading a defeat to Milan for qualification to the final of the Coppa Italia, but we are not in the right situation to be able to allow ourselves these considerations.

"The first week here was very difficult in which to work, but now the team is getting back a little of the quality that it has shown in recent years.

"Palermo are getting some things back and moreover there is the consciousness in us of being able to realise prestigious objectives.

"The objective we care about the most is the Coppa Italia," he concluded.
