The Salentini welcome Giuseppe Sannino’s side five points and two places behind them in the standings.

Currently sitting in 18th spot, Lecce boss Cosmi believes that the head to head relegation clash with the Robur next Sunday lunchtime is a definitive encounter for the coming season.

“For me to speak [to the media] on a Tuesday has never happened before,” began Cosmi.

“But now I am doing it as we are entering a very important week.

“I think it is appropriate to jump right into the game. This is a week where everyone must be in it, really. It seemed appropriate to signal this to everyone.

“Siena are a tough team, well organised with few weaknesses. If I am here talking about them today, it is because I want everyone to think about it, from today until the game.

“Making appeals is pathetic, but for sure, Sunday’s game is key to our destiny. It would be nice to see that we all believe at the match – the Coach, players and fans.

“In Bergamo [last weekend] the team did what it could, I cannot criticise anything from the point of view of the boys’ commitment. Against Siena we will triple what we did, both in commitment and quality of play.”
