Stefano Pioli’s rotations didn’t quite work for Milan against Monza and Il Corriere dello Sport highlights that just three summer signings have become untouchable at San Siro: Christian Pulisic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Tijjani Reijnders.

Sunday’s 4-2 loss against Monza prevented the Diavoli from overtaking second-placed Juventus in the Serie A table and many Rossoneri players have been criticised by the media following the latest defeat.

Gazzetta: Milan’s recurrent errors and Pioli’s only chance to save his job

Among them are Noah Okafor and Samuel Chukwueze who failed to impress at the U-Power Stadium and have been unable to match expectations so far this season.

As highlighted by Tuesday’s printed edition of Il Corriere dello Sport, the Swiss and Nigeria internationals have flopped in their first season at the Stadio Meazza, combining just six goals. The ‘inconsistent’ Yacine Adli was also criticised by Corriere dello Sport.

The Rome-based paper claimed Rossoneri directors would soon make decisions on which players will leave next season.

The article by Giorgio Coluccia explained that Pulisic, Loftus-Cheek and Reijnders have been the only convincing new signings this season, while all other newcomers have offered hot and cold performances in 2023-24.

The second part of the season will be crucial to determine the future of several Milan players, including Simon Kjaer and Pierre Kalulu, plus many summer signings.
