Fabrizio Corsi admits that welcoming Roma in Week 2 is a ‘big event’ for his Empoli, who ‘must have courage’.

The newly-promoted outfit will play their first Serie A match at the Stadio Carlo Castellini in six years when they play host to the Giallorossi on Saturday evening, and their President is counting down the days.

“For the city, as well as for the team, this is a big event,” Corsi has told Sky Sport Italia this week.

“For this reason, we will try our utmost, aware of the difficulties that we are going to face.

“We must have courage in ourselves and also look to the finer points.

“Roma? What to say about Roma? They are a formidable team, but fortunately on the field it is players and not salaries.”
