While in Spain and Argentina they report Angel Correa is very close to Milan, Italian sources warn they are still €10m off the Atletico Madrid asking price and there are complications.
Mundo Deportivo, Cadena Ser and DeporTea all suggest Correa is heading to Milan for €55m after Atleti agreed a €60m deal with Valencia for Rodrigo Moreno.
However, MilanNews.it, La Gazzetta dello Sport and Radio Rossonera all point out the most recent offer of €40m plus €5m in bonuses has not changed.
That still puts them €10m off the asking price, which remains a significant gap, even if Correa has made up his mind that he wants a move to San Siro.
Because of this, he reportedly rejected a financially superior proposal from Monaco.
There is room for negotiation, but there are some other complications here too.
The transfers all depend on other deals going through in order to free up funds.
In Spain, it’s suggested Rodrigo won’t be purchased from Valencia until Atletico Madrid have sold Correa to Milan.
However, in Italy it’s claimed Milan won’t be able to get Correa until they have sold Andre Silva, most likely to Valencia.
Someone has to take the first step to set off the chain reaction and, even if the players have all agreed personal terms – and Andre Silva is only at the beginning of that process – the clubs still need to work out the final figures.
