Joaquin Correa admits Lazio ‘suffered a bit too much’ against Club Brugge, but the important thing is they reached the Champions League Last 16.

It was all looking like an easy victory for the Aquile when they went 2-1 up and Brugge had Edouard Sobol sent off after just 39 minutes.

However, they rested on their laurels, conceded the equaliser and barely clung on for the point.

“We got through to the next round, that’s what matters,” Correa told Lazio Style Channel.

“We suffered a bit too much, but there are no easy games in the Champions League. We are very happy to have reached this level, which Lazio had been away from for far too long.

“I am very happy with the goal and the victory. We are one of the best 16 teams in the Champions League.”
