Gossip columnist Fabrizio Corona claimed the Serie A betting scandal ‘isn’t over’ and that ‘half of Serie A is involved’ including more from Juventus.

Starting from last summer, the former paparazzo – who has a criminal record for acts including blackmail – began accusing various Serie A players of placing bets on football matches, including the now suspended Nicolo Fagioli of Juventus and Sandro Tonali of Newcastle.

Whilst Corona was seemingly correct regarding the aforementioned pair, he also accused various other figures of being involved including Nicolo Zaniolo, Nicola Zalewski, Nicolo Casale and Alessandro Florenzi, none of whom received any form of punishment.

Corona accuses Juventus and more

Corona was at the Court of Milan this morning for a hearing regarding whether he should be placed under preventative special surveillance for 18 months, where he spoke to gathered reporters regarding the recent Serie A betting scandal.

“The football betting scandal isn’t over, but Italian law is like this, the trial is suspended, and we’ll hear about it again in a couple of years. Not all of the names have come out, half of Serie A is involved, but that’s how it goes when Juventus are in the middle of it.”

As of now, the only allegations made by Corona that have seemingly been true were the ones regarding Fagioli and Tonali, who both received suspensions as part of the scandal.
