Cornelius injured for Parma too

Parma injury problems are piling up ahead of Saturday’s trip to Inter, as Andreas Cornelius also has a thigh strain.

The Swede had just scored a hat-trick in the 5-1 victory over Genoa and was himself a replacement for Roberto Inglese, who sprained his ankle.

A statement from Parma confirmed Cornelius has been diagnosed with a Grade I thigh strain in his left femoral bicep, which is expected to keep him out for a couple of weeks.

It’s a heavy blow, as it means both centre-forwards are absent for this weekend and likely to skip the midweek clash with Hellas Verona too.

Bruno Alves remains on the treatment table in defence, while midfielder Alberto Grassi had surgery this morning to resolve a long-standing right knee problem.
