“The first step was rediscovering our dignity and staying in the game to the final minute, which is what we’ve done over the last two matches,” said the coach in his press conference.
“We went close to winning one and drawing the other, but got only one point against Parma and Lazio, so we must transform that anger into positive energy.
“Our current position in the table suggests this is a relegation battle with Sampdoria, but the truth is that the Blucerchiati expect to be higher up the standings with the quality at their disposal. Claudio Ranieri is a wonderful coach who I respect a great deal, as he made all Italians proud with his achievements abroad.
“I watched the draw with Milan and Sampdoria really could’ve won at San Siro, they came very close.”
Sandro Tonali is suspended along with defender Andrea Cistana, removing two Italy internationals from the Brescia squad.
“I always have great faith in my players. Federico Viviani did really well against Lazio, so this’ll be an important opportunity for him too.”
This is a reunion, because Corini briefly played for Sampdoria in 1992-93.
“I was proud to wear their jersey, but it was not a positive time for me and an ankle injury made the final part of the season tough, so I preferred to go to Napoli. Apart from that, I also had an argument with an important player in the dressing room!”
