“It’s a head-to-head for position and we saw last week SPAL had the opportunities to get back into their game with Inter, so like all Serie A clubs, they too have plenty of quality to draw upon,” said Corini in his press conference.

The Rondinelle slipped even further down the standings after the brief Fabio Grosso era, losing all three games without scoring a single goal.
Corini was recalled, having masterminded their Serie B title victory last season.
“We needed to rediscover those small details that ultimately make the difference,” he explained. “I saw that desire in training and motivation must be our greatest strength going into the second half of the season.
“I think right now, we have rediscover our dignity and calm, but also be fired up for the final push. Perhaps so far we’ve lacked a bit of luck or incisiveness in front of goals, but these next four games will be extraordinarily important.
“It’s a key to play a progressive, attacking style of football rather than just sit back and defend. That is not the way I view football. You can concede goals in Serie A, but it is more important to score them.”
Corini confirmed Mario Balotelli has a back problem, but did train, while Jesse Joronen is also likely to play.
“I returned this club with the great desire to help save Brescia from relegation. The President called me and talked about a contract extension, but although I found it flattering, I appreciate the gesture.”
