Chievo Coach Eugenio Corini prepares for the Verona Derby and claims Mario Balotelli trod on Nicolas Frey.
“We consider this to be an injustice,” said Corini in his Press conference today.
“The three-match ban is really too much for the dynamics of the incident and we have prepared an appeal.
“Balotelli took up his position, they both fell and in getting back up Balotelli put his foot on Frey’s intimate parts. Nicolas pushed him away because it hurt, which is an instinctive reaction.”
Chievo face their local rivals Hellas Verona this weekend and Corini won earlier this season on his debut.
“Andrea Mandorlini uses a tactical system I really like and he’s a genuine person, which I admire. He has all my respect.
“I think that against Hellas it is Chievo’s most important game of the season. It’s a shame if the stadium won’t be full.”
Verona ultras have pledged to boycott the match in protest at what they deem to be excessively expensive tickets for the visiting team.
Both Chievo and Verona share the Stadio Bentegodi.
