Cordoba aims for Coppa Italia glory

Inter defender Ivan Cordoba acknowledges that his side are unlikely to retain the Scudetto, but insists they haven't given up hope of winning the Coppa Italia.

Inter currently lie second in Serie A, eight points behind League leaders Milan with four games of the season still remaining.

However, they do hold a 1-0 first leg lead in their Coppa Italia semi-final with Roma.

"It will be very difficult to take the Scudetto away from Milan, but we have to win all our remaining games," Cordoba said.

"Above all we have to concentrate on our objectives, which right now are qualifying for the Champions League and winning the Coppa Italia which is always a very important title."

Reflectig on Inter's Champions League exit in the quarter-finals to Schalke, he said: "I believe that the team paid for the effort put into our comeback in Serie A and we met a physically strong and well-organised team in the Champions League.

"The five goals that we conceded at home were a heavy punishment and it was almost impossible to recover by winning 4-0."
