Dusan Vlahovic bagged a brace and Nico Gonzalez was also on target as Fiorentina flattened Cosenza 4-0, while Udinese beat Ascoli 3-1 in the First Round of the Coppa Italia.

It took all of four minutes to break the deadlock, as Gonzalez and Vlahovic worked together to harass the Cosenza defence into an error, the Serbian getting the tap-in.

The game was one-way traffic, with Vincenzo Italiano’s fast-paced and quick-passing style of football beginning to show.

Gonzalez saw his header come off the woodwork and succeeded with a similar effort moments later.

The third goal came on the stroke of half-time, German Pezzella knocking down a corner for Vlahovic to acrobatically hook it in with his weaker right foot.

Lorenzo Venuti fired into the roof of the net with his left boot after a short Jose Callejon corner and Vlahovic would’ve had a hat-trick if not for the upright denying his strike.

Fiorentina will take on either Benevento or SPAL in the next phase.

Udinese made short work of Serie B side Ascoli, with Pereyra pouncing on the rebound from a parried Ignacio Pussetto strike, assisting Nahuel Molina and moments later adding a third off the underside of the bar.

Ascoli got a consolation goal late on with D’Orazio and now Udinese will face either Crotone or Brescia in the Second Round.
