The Coppa Italia Round of 16 is now confirmed, with Lecce the only remaining Serie B side, while Napoli–Fiorentina, Milan–Genoa and Juventus–Sampdoria stand out.
The second knockout phase was completed this evening and Lecce are the only surviving team representing Serie B, having beaten Spezia 2-0 at the Stadio Picco.
The Salentini will complete a battle of the Giallorossi with Roma.
Elsewhere, Juventus will play Sampdoria, Sassuolo host Cagliari, Atalanta welcome Venezia and Lazio face Udinese.
The most intriguing fixture is without doubt between Napoli and Fiorentina, especially as in January the Partenopei will also be missing several key players in the Africa Cup of Nations.
Inter take on giant-killers Empoli, while Milan are up against Andriy Shevchenko’s Genoa.
The fixtures will be played on January 12 and 19, although the precise dates are not yet confirmed.
