Matteo Gabbia and Alex Jimenez will start for Milan against Charles De Ketelaere’s Atalanta in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals tonight.
It kicks off at 20:00 GMT at the Stadio Meazza in Milan.
Stefano Pioli and Gian Piero Gasperini are not expected to rotate much although Simon Kjaer and Olivier Giroud are likely to rest for Milan after starting against Empoli on Sunday.
This means Gabbia will start in central defence alongside Theo Hernandez with Davide Calabria and Jimenez on the flanks. The Rossoneri could line up with a 4-3-3 or 3-4-3 formation and in this case Calabria would play in a three-man defence.
Yunus Musah will return to the starting XI, joining Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Tijjani Reijnders in midfield, while Luka Jovic will replace Giroud up front.
Milan have 11 players out of action for tonight’s fixture, including Alessandro Florenzi, who sustained a minor muscle injury against Empoli on Sunday.
Atalanta will assess Sead Kolasinac and former Milan striker De Ketelaere before their trip to Milan this morning, but both players are expected to be available.
New signing Isak Hien will likely to start in a three-man defence, while Aleksei Miranchuk and Teun Koopmeiners will support Gianluca Scamacca up front.
El-Bilal Traoré and Hans Hateboer are injured, while Ademola Lookman is on international duty.
