Inter look to Lautaro Martinez, Joaquin Correa, Denzel Dumfries and Robin Gosens as they defend their Coppa Italia title in the Round of 16 against Gianluigi Buffon’s Parma.

It kicks off at San Siro at 20.00 GMT and the winners go on to face Atalanta or Spezia in the quarter-finals.

The Nerazzurri won this trophy last season, beating Juventus in the final minutes of extra time in the Final, and are eager to defend it.

Romelu Lukaku, Nicolò Barella, Hakan Calhanoglu and Marcelo Brozovic are on the treatment table, although all four are hoping to be back for the Italian Supercup against Milan on January 18.

Brozovic would’ve missed this game anyway due to suspension.

Edin Dzeko is rested in favour of Correa and World Cup winner Lautaro Martinez, while squad rotation sees Gosens, Denzel Dumfries, Kristjan Asllani and Roberto Gagliardini step in.

Parma are in Serie B this season under coach Fabio Pecchia and welcomed back veteran Buffon, who turns 45 on January 28.

They currently sit in sixth place after seven wins, six draws and six defeats.

Buffon is in goal with Dennis Man, Franco ‘El Mudo’ Vazquez and Adrian Benedyczak upfront, leaving Roberto Inglese initially on the bench.

The Ducali won the Coppa Italia three times in 1992, 1999 and 2002, along with an Italian Supercup, a Cup Winners’ Cup, two editions of the UEFA Cup and a European Supercup.

The last two times these sides met at San Siro, the result was always 2-2 in Serie A in October 2020 and October 2019.
