Lecce will face Spezia in the Second Round of the Coppa Italia after causing a big upset with their 3-1 victory away to Parma.

You can follow the other Coppa Italia games as they happen here.

The Ducali had got off to a strong start under new coach Enzo Maresca, taking the lead through Juan Brunetta and wasting several big early chances.

However, they were made to regret those mistakes, as Lecce got back into the match and took control.

Massimo Coda was the key man, bagging a brace against his former club, around the Alessandro Tuia looping header.

Notably, all three Lecce goals and an opportunity that Gabriel Strefezza really should’ve scored were counter-attacks prompted by Parma errors when playing out from the back.

Pep Guardiola’s former assistant Maresca evidently still needs a while to drill his men into that approach, but there isn’t much time, as the Serie B season kicks off next weekend and Parma are already out of the Coppa Italia.

Parma 1-3 Lecce

Brunetta 7 (P), Coda 9, 76 (L), Tuia 40 (L)
