Dean Huijsen will start his first game for Roma in a Coppa Italia derby against Lazio while Ivan Provedel is expected to feature in the Biancocelesti’s XI despite a fever.
Lazio and Roma meet in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals on Wednesday. It kicks off at 17:00 GMT.
Provedel didn’t train with the rest of the team on the eve of the game due to a fever but is still expected to start between the sticks for Lazio. On the other hand, Mattia Zaccagni and Gustav Isaksen could rest having not worked with the rest of the team on Tuesday.
If both wingers go on the bench, Ciro Immobile will be the only player unavailable for Maurizio Sarri.
Alessio Romagnoli is expected to return to Lazio’s starting XI after several weeks on the treatment table and will join Patric in central defence.
Diego Llorente is available for Roma although not fully fit, so the Spaniard will initially go on the bench with Huijsen starting his first game for the Giallorossi, joining Zaki Celik and Gianluca Mancini in a three-man back-line.
Lorenzo Pellegrini has back pain, so he will go on the bench, making room for Bryan Cristante, Leandro Paredes and Edoardo Bove in central midfield.
Chris Smalling, Renato Sanches, Marash Kumbulla and Tammy Abraham are injured, while Evan N’Dicka and Houssem Aouar are on international duty.
