Atalanta kickstart their hunt for silverware with an afternoon Coppa Italia Round of 16 clash against Spezia.
The match between la Dea and the Aquilotti kicks off at 14.00 UK time at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo.
Gian Piero Gasperini’s side have been one of the recent revelations of Serie A, qualifying for the Champions League on multiple occasions ahead of some of Italy’s most historic sides. Unfortunately for Atalanta, this recent success has not translated into trophies, with the team losing two Coppa Italia finals in the last four years.
Spezia have never progressed further than the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia, last reaching that stage in the 2020-21 season, when they lost to Napoli.
Atalanta cannot count on the injured Davide Zappacosta and Luis Muriel is also in doubt. Spezia are without Simone Bastoni and Jeroen Zoet, both of whom are out injured.
