The 2024-25 Coppa Italia First Round kicks off tonight with Udinese-Avellino, Genoa-Reggiana, Sassuolo-Cittadella and Monza-Sudtirol.
The tournament has technically already started with the preliminary round involving Serie B and C sides, but the competition proper begins here.
Sassuolo play Cittadella with kick-off at 17.00 UK time, then Udinese take to the field against Avellino for their debut under new coach Kosta Runjaic at 17.30 UK time.
Genoa host Reggiana at 19.45 UK time, followed by Monza with Sudtirol at 20.15 UK time.
The winners must be decided on the night and, in a change to the rules for this season, if they are level after 90 minutes then go directly to a penalty shoot-out.
With a packed fixture list and summer heat, they have decided to avoid the strain of extra time.
The first round continues on Saturday with the likes of Napoli-Modena and Verona-Cesena, then on Sunday Parma-Palermo, Torino-Cosenza and Sampdoria-Como.
On Monday the round concludes with amongst others Lecce-Mantova and Cagliari-Carrarese.
