Roma legend Bruno Conti heaps praise on Eusebio Di Francesco, and compares last night’s Barcelona comeback to the win over Dundee United.
The Giallorossi completed an incredible ‘Romantada’ against the Blaugrana last night, winning 3-0 at the Olimpico to win on away goals after a 4-1 loss at Camp Nou.
The result has been compared to the 1983-84 European Cup semi-final, when the Lupi overcame a 2-0 loss at Tannadice to beat Dundee United and reach the final.

“I’d say yes,” Conti replied, when asked by Sky if there were any similarities.
“At the time we had a great team, we had the desire to overturn the result and we succeeded.”
Conti played over 400 games for Roma during his career, winning the Scudetto and five Coppe Italia, and he’s impressed with their current Coach.
“Di Francesco has the advantage of having played at Roma, so he knows the environment well. He knows what it means to play here and how demanding the fans are.
“What’s he’s doing as a Coach is important, as [Daniele] De Rossi pointed out, he changed the tactical set-up in three days.
“I said to [Francesco] Totti in the stands that if it was the Barcelona of the first leg we could do it, and we did.
“We saw from the beginning that he [Di Francesco] works from the beginning of the week and instils his belief.
“It’s been 34 years since we reached the semi-finals, he’s doing great things. He’s doing here what he did at Sassuolo.
“He always remains the same person, even when things aren’t going well.”
