Tottenham are reportedly preparing to open serious talks with Roma in a bid to find a deal for Nicolo Zaniolo.
La Gazzetta dello Sport details how several Spurs players invited the Italian forward to join them in North London after the friendly match between the two clubs in Israel last week. Antonio Conte is a big fan of the 23-year-old and is pushing to see him brought to North London.
Roma would likely accept a €50m offer for Zaniolo and Tottenham are hoping to include a player in the deal, with possible options including Japhet Tanganga, Tanguy Ndombele, Sergio Reguilón and Giovanni Lo Celso.
Whilst the first two of these players would be useful to Roma on a tactical level, especially Ndombele, the club are hoping to cash in on the sale of Zaniolo. They’re also wary of the high wages received by Spurs’ offerings.
Concrete negotiations could kick off between the two clubs as early as next week and things will be split into two separate elements: the first focused solely on the sale of Zaniolo and the second regarding possible loans for Tottenham’s unneeded players.
