Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur are interested in the availability of Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski, according to reports in Italy.

Zielinski, 28, has become an important member of the Napoli midfield in recent seasons, though his form dipped in the second half of this campaign as he struggled to recover from COVID.

Alfredo Pedulla reports Tottenham are monitoring the situation. Zielinski has a high release clause but it remains to be seen how central the Poland international will be to manager Luciano Spalletti’s plans moving forward.

The report adds that Tottenham director Fabio Paratici is a long-time fan, while Conte wanted him at Inter in the summer of 2019 but was told it was not possible.

Conte has enjoyed success at Spurs with players signed from Serie A as the January arrivals of Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski have helped spark a turnaround which has them on the brink of qualifying for the Champions League.

Zielinski first arrived in Italy when he signed for Udinese in 2012 and joined Napoli in 2016 following a short spell at Empoli.
