Harry Winks is reportedly on Roma‘s radars for January, but the Englishman’s status at Tottenham could change as he played 90 minutes in Antonio Conte’s first Premier League win in North London.

Winks, 25, struggled with playing time under Nuno Espirito Santo.

The product of Tottenham academy hadn’t played a minute of action in the Premier League since mid-September, so Conte’s decision to include him in the Spurs line-up surprised many.

Winks didn’t only start the game but remained on the pitch for the entire match.

Conte had already used him as a substitute in his first match in charge of Tottenham against Vitesse but left him on the bench in his Premier League debut with Spurs against Everton.

Mourinho looks to Chelsea, Spurs and Man Utd for January reinforcements

Winks is reportedly one of Roma’s targets for January, with José Mourinho desperate for midfield reinforcement.

The Giallorossi failed to get Granit Xhaka from Arsenal over the summer and the Serie A side didn’t sign any other midfielder.

Conte was satisfied with Winks’ performance and it remains to be seen if the English midfielder will get more playing time under the former Italy coach.

“Winks struggled a lot with the rest of the team in the first half, second half he played with a lot of personality and played well,” Conte said at a post-match press conference as quoted by Football London.

Winks’ contract in North London expires in June 2024.
