Napoli are serious about reuniting Antonio Conte with Romelu Lukaku but now much fight off competition from Saudi Arabia for the Chelsea outcast.

The 31-year-old Belgian striker has returned to the Blues following his fairly successful season on loan with Roma, where he scored 21 goals across 47 matches. He is not expected to remain part of the squad in West London and a €44m price tag has been set.

Now under the guidance of Conte, Napoli are seriously interested in snapping up Lukaku this summer, needing a replacement for Victor Osimhen. He has already hinted towards the move in a recent interview and the Partenopei have drawn up a fairly low first offer for the striker.

Lukaku threat

Page four of today’s Corriere dello Sport details how Napoli are ready for talks with Chelsea for Lukaku, but things could grow complicated due to the emergence of Saudi side Al-Ittihad, who are one of the clubs backed by the Public Investment Fund.

Partenopei sporting director Giovanni Manna will soon be in close contact with the Premier League side to try and iron out a deal. Milan were also linked with a move recently, but the 31-year-old is not considered a priority target at this stage.
