Tottenham Hotspur players are learning just what Antonio Conte’s brutal pre-season training regime is like, with Harry Kane and Son Heung-min crumpling to the ground in exhaustion.

The Italian took over the Spurs job on November 2, 2021, so this is the first time his squad has experienced the sheer strain of a Conte pre-season training retreat.

Even by the standards of Serie A coaches, Conte is notorious for the demands he puts on his players and the work he forces them into in order to get ready for the campaign ahead.

Currently on a pre-season tour of South Korea, Tottenham players were shattered during their open training session at the Seoul World Cup Stadium today.

Ivan Perisic is accustomed to it from his time working with Conte at Inter, but was only doing separate sessions to recover from injury.

It’s a new experience for Kane and Son, who ‘collapsed’ during the training regime, were given a brief respite and then had to resume.

There were two hours of training, followed by repeated runs up and down the full length of the pitch.
