“In terms of positives, there’s enthusiasm,” Conte told Inter TV.
“We’re starting to see recognition of the work we’ve done so far and the lads are finally being appreciated.
“In the previous period, surprisingly, the team came in for too much criticism. Sanchez had a serious injury and we didn’t have him for five months.
“It was also a troubled year for the constant injuries to our midfielders, like Sensi who we’ve seen very little of.
“Then there have been the traumatic injuries to Gagliardini, Barella and Vecino, who has this knee problem…
“We suffered for those losses, but at the same time we see the glass half-full and whoever has played instead of them has given great answers.
“I’m referring to people like Brozovic, Borja Valero and Eriksen, who we’re in the process of integrating.”
Eriksen completed the 4-0 win at SPAL, just days after it was claimed the coach was ready to give up on the ex-Tottenham Hotspur man.
“Roma are a well-equipped team, with excellent players and a good coach.
“It’ll be a difficult game for us as it comes after playing SPAL two days earlier, one trip and one day less of recovery.”
