Antonio Conte has been heavily linked with the Manchester United job, but he’s not the only candidate who could replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Here’s what we know so far.

The former Inter and Juventus coach is available after the termination of his contract with Inter this past summer.

He had decided not to accept any job until the beginning of 2022-23, but according to multiple reports in Italy, he’s open to taking over at Old Trafford, should the Red Devils sack their coach Solskjaer.

The former striker is under pressure after Sunday’s 5-0 home defeat against Liverpool and the Premier League giants have yet to make a decision over his future.

The fixture list doesn’t seem easy for the 48-year-old who will face Tottenham, Atalanta and Manchester City before the November break, provided he remains in charge.

Man Utd consider Conte, but Glazers have three doubts

Sky Sport Italia and Sportitalia reported that Manchester United have already made preliminary contact with Conte, but La Gazzetta dello Sport quotes the coach’s entourage saying Conte hasn’t been contacted yet.

Surely, the former Chelsea boss is one of the primary targets for the Premier League giants, although he is not the only candidate.

The Sun mentions Zinedine Zidane, Brendan Rodgers and Erik Ten Hag as possible replacements for Solskjaer although it remains to be seen whether or not Rodgers and Ten Hag would leave Leicester City and Ajax while the season is ongoing.

Both La Repubblica and La Gazzetta dello Sport report that a part of the Manchester United board has doubts regarding Conte’s methods and that’s why he is one of the leading candidates, but not the only one to take over at Old Trafford.
