Antonio Conte has broken his silence on increasing reports that he is in talks to replace Rudi Garcia as Napoli coach. ‘For now all I want is to take time out and enjoy my family.’

The former Tottenham Hotspur manager has been out of work since terminating his contract by mutual consent with the Premier League side in late March.

Sky Sport Italia claimed today that Conte was going to meet with Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis in person to discuss taking over from Garcia.

Conte took to Instagram Stories to give his version of events.

“I hear insistent rumours that connect me with important clubs, but I reaffirm that for now all I want to do is take time out and enjoy my family.”

Nonetheless, the reports continue to circulate that Napoli President De Laurentiis has decided he intends to fire Garcia after just five wins, two draws and three defeats between Serie A and the Champions League.

Conte has not worked in Serie A since securing the Scudetto at Inter in the 2020-21 campaign, but his other Italian clubs were Siena, Arezzo, Bari, Atalanta and Juventus.
