Italy’s new CT will “definitely” be announced before Euro 2016, FIGC director general Michele Uva confirms.
Current Azzurri Coach Antonio Conte is leaving after this summer’s tournament, as he’s taking over at English Premier League side Chelsea.
“When will the new CT be appointed? Definitely before the Euros,” Uva announced on ‘La Politica nel Pallone’.
“Along with [President Carlo] Tavecchio we decided not to rock the boat before the Coppa Italia final. It will be a considered choice.

“Vincenzo Montella, Gianni De Biasi or Giampiero Ventura? Names like those, along with other people we’re considering, must be compatible with the project.
“The thing that makes us happy is the number of Coaches who, whether directly or indirectly, expressed interest in the national team.
“The list is longer than those three names, and everything will be assessed, as well as the opinion of the technical director [probably Marcello Lippi] who will be important and decisive.
“The role of CT is very special, and we thank Antonio Conte for what he’s done, also in terms of mentality, and much, much more than what you see.
“He’s brought interesting ideas which we’ll hold onto for our project.”
