The Azzurri sealed their place in France by winning their qualification group ahead of Norway and Croatia, and will be second seeds for the draw on December 12.
“To be there as protagonists gives me so much responsibility, but also so much pride,” Conte wrote on his official Facebook page.
“I’ve heard Italy behind us, pushing us along. I hope to be able to work to prepare a little war machine.”

The Azzurri were finalists in the European Championships in 2012, but followed that up with a disappointing World Cup showing, exiting at the group stage in Brazil.
