Conte praises Tottenham’s season after reaching Champions League

Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte praised his side’s campaign after ensuring Champions League qualification in the final match of the season.

A recent upturn in form saw Spurs pip north London rivals Arsenal into fourth spot in the Premier League with a 5-0 victory away at Norwich City to cap off a remarkable turnaround since Conte’s arrival.

Spurs were underdogs for the fourth spot but finished the season ahead of rivals Arsenal and Manchester United to return to Europe’s premier competition after a two-year absence.

Conte’s message on Instagram read: “It’s been a season full of bumps on the road, but we all made it through together, as a team.

“Today’s match has been the right ending to a year of hard work, dedication, attention and education. We trained together, we suffered together and we celebrated every single win together.

“Come On You Spurs #COYS.”

Conte will be determined to improve his record in the Champions League where he has only reached the quarter-finals on one occasion.

The former Italy boss is due to begin his sixth campaign in the competition, having previously competed with Juventus, Chelsea and Inter but has only reached the knockout stages on two occasions.

In 2012-13, his Juve side were eliminated by eventual winners Bayern Munich while Chelsea lost out to Barcelona in 2017-18.

Does anyone on here really care!

I actually would like to know what’s going on with other Italian coaches and players around the football world, so yes, I care, although reporting on Tottenham getting 4th is a bit of a stretch. The Balotelli news of scoring 4 with that backheel is something I’m interested in.
